This is a lovely day - not sunny, but nice in a different way. In fact today is overcast, coolish (by our standards), and blustery. It's almost a Halloween day.
I like cloudy days occasionally. They're great for writing, working outside, organizing, making phone calls. A steady diet of cloudy days is not good, but I find an occasional one refreshing.
As I watched the wind blowing the leaves about, I imagined nature's broom doing a little fall cleaning.
Just as we tend to open up the house in the spring after a winter of being closed up and open up again for a brief while in fall after the summer air conditioning (in places where it's needed) and before the late fall chill, I imagine nature doing her own bit of airing out and sweeping during a blustery day like today.
It smells fresh, the leaves are being swept from the driveway, and trees are shedding their dead leaves and small branches. Yes, nature is weilding a big broom today.
