"MySpace" In Decline As A Social Media Leader

"MySpace" - one of the pioneers of social media - is in decline. So much so, that it no longer calls itself a social network but an entertainment destination.

It claims that it hast traction to Facebook as the reason for it's pullback. However, it seems that their product is in decline because they didn't develop like many of the other sites - including ActiveRain. Many sites have been building and growing, adding functioanlity, members, and employees.

In the past 12 months, MySpace has gone from 110 million t0 63 million, with a loss of 10 million from just January and February this year.

They claim to have reduced their workforce by 50% down to a paltry 500. Not sure what their future holds, but it seems they are no longer pursuing what they started.

I have attempted several times to delete my profile on the site. Not only is it complicated, so far it's been nonresponsive - for me and many others.
