NFL Counting On Short Memories And Short Season

After turning their backs on the fans - the people who pay for tickets, jerseys, hats, and the like - the NFL now says they may be able to salvage an 8-game season beginning by November with up to 5 weeks of training camp and maybe a preseason game. Nothing so far validates that optimism, however.

Sounds like the owners and the League are counting on short memories from the fans. The fans should be on lockout (boycott/strike) as well. No one go to any games this year - assuming the season eventually starts. See how zero ticket revenue (and hot dogs, soda, beer, and gameday merchandise) helps the owners and the players.

The NBA is planning on a lockout at the end of this month. After the Championship series, don't count on any basketball for a few months.

Add this to a canceled NHL season and a crippled MLB season a few years back, and it's easy to see that professional sports expects the fans to just live and let live - and pay and pay.
