New Points Sprint Cup Leader

Congratulations Team 48 and Jimmie Johnson for coming from a 21st place start to finish 2nd in Kansas and take over the points leads for the Chase. At one point, Jimmie was in 28th place. What a great comeback and what a great place to be in now - first in the points.

This is a greart vantage point for a 5th consecutive championship. Still 7 races to go, but looks good so far.

Team 48 Puts It All Together

When it goes your way, it really goes your way. Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus, Rick Hendrick, and all the Lowe's Team 48 members proved that today for their fans. After a disappointing finish last week and a plummet in the standings, Jimmie won today's Dover race and climbed back up to second place - where he was before last weeks race.

Jimmie won the pole for today's race, got 5 bonus points for leading a lap, another 5 bonus points for leading the most laps, and the was the leader on the final lap.

Great job, great comeback, and keep it going. One poor outing doesn't make the season, yet one great outing can retake the momentum. The four time defending champion is showing his mettle.

Way To Go Team 48

Jimmie Johnson made a statement today at Loudon in his pursuit of his fifth consecutive NASCAR points championship by winning his second consecutive race. He is now tied win Denny Hamlin with 5 wins apiece for the season.

Congratulations Team 48.
