Today, as all eyes in auto racing turn to the Indianapolis Moror Speedway for Pole Day, we will see the fastest one lap speed that we'll see on any auto racing track this year.
Practice speeds approaching 226 miles per hour were recorded yesterday.
This is exciting. This is sport. This is competition.
However, just speed - or haste - without control and preparation is very dangerous. It can have fatal consequences.
These drivers aren't just racing all-out as fast as they can without having complete control of their vehicles and having had countless checks of the engine, chasis, tires, and other critical components of the car before attempting the qualifying.
Of course, accidents do happen and equipment does malfunction occasionally. Sometimes we push the limit.
We just need to be mindful that in sales, in relationships, and in life that haste can hurt us. Nothing wrong in taking the time to do things well.
