Can we be lucky three times this season?

After 2 near misses with Tropical Storm Fay and Hurricane Hanna, can we be so lucky with Hurricane Ike?

Fay gave us about 12" of rain but we didn't experience any flooding. Our neighbors up the coast had more rain and more issues with flooding and runoff. Then we got a little taste of Gustav's outer bands and had a couple of windy and rainy conditions.

Hanna was scheduled to be right outside our door tomorrow morning but now is curving up the coast toward the Carolinas and Virginia - it may or may not reach minimal hurricane status.

Then there's Ike - currently a category 4 storm. The models have this storm going anyplace from Cuba to a direct hit on us to curving out to sea and missing most or all of the US. It's dependent on other weather systems interacting with it or steering it.

It sure would be nice to look back this time next week and say that we dodged another storm. Time will tell.
