It's a good thing we have the government to watch out for us. Just think of what stupid and dangerous things we might do growing up. We might stick small toys in our mouths, we might eat paper, we might ride in cars without seatbelts, we might fall out of trees, we might get hit in the head with a thrown baseball, we might fall while running with pointed scissors, we might chew on cribs painted with lead paint, we might ride our bicycle or skate with no helmet or knee and elbow pads, we might breathe air that isn't good for us, we might get too much sun exposure .... Wait a minute, we've already done that, and I think we survived.
Are all regulations bad? No. Seatbelts are a good idea. So are bike helmets. But there are limits. Let kids be kids - and adults be adults.
