Today is January 2, 2010. Written another way, today is 01-02-2010 or 01.02.02(.)10 - the same from either end. This is what is called a palindrome. It won't happen again until November 2 of next year. Enjoy your special day.

Is today a gamble or tribute to convenience?

Today is July 11th, a Friday. But said another way, today is 7/11 or 7-11. This makes it a day for gamblers or one for convenience store owners. I guess it's all in your perspective, but it sure is nice to have a convenience store handy when you need one - like when you need a soda or a coffee or a snack - at pretty much any hour of the day.

Wow, a date that matches my height

Call me wacky - I look for and find funny things in normal events. Take today for example - May 7th, also known as 5/7. That's fine because that sounds an awful lot like my height. When you're relatively short, you look for any excuse to "brag" about your height. Here's to all of the other 5'7" Rainers out there. May we have a great day.
