Today, the House voted to defund Planned Parenthood. Forget about what you think of the organization. Forget about whether you think they should exist or not. Forget about whether you personally donate to them.
The fact is, the US government does not need to fund them. Nowhere in the Constitution is this provided for. It is not a case providing for the general welfare. It is a private organization that serves its particular clientele.
There are many funding sources for it, including the United Way. Don't know ehen the funding started - I could reserach it, but it's not important. The important thing is that it is stopping.
NPR, NEA (Arts), and others are hopefully next.
