Well do you? Do you remember that you couldn't conduct business, send proposals, receive bids, or send offers back and forth without a fax machine?
Remember those first ones that had to have a telephone in the cradle to work it? Remember 1200 baud?
While some people may think they need a fax machine to send offers and purchase agreements back and forth, it's not a necessity. Fast yes, quality, not so much.
Ever get streaks, lines, large black blotches, crocked images, images not all there, signatures you can't read? Why live with them when there is scanning? There is faxing to a computer, but this is just an extra expense.
It's like cell phones. Who makes long distance calls from a land line anymore unless it is a fax? We all use cell phones. Even teens do this. Cell phones used to a novelty. Now they have replaced the home phone.
So now to replace remove the fax. It's gone. The only faxes I got in the past year beside the handful of faxes that I knew were coming were all spam - several a day and probably a reem's worth of paper,or more, not to mention toner. That is until I unplugged the fax around Thanksgiving.
I figured if the fax is unplugged, it's like not having it. So now I don't and I don't have to pay for the extra line anymore either. No fax, no land line. Just cell.
Gone the way of the 8-track, cassette, and VHS. I'm not going to miss it.
