A Sunday to remember

Don't look now, but today was the last Sunday of daylight savings time until the spring. I know the daylight has dwindled from what it was during the summer, but if you think it got dark early today, try next Sunday when it will be dark a whole hour earlier.

I know there are a few areas of the country that don't have daylight savings time. You won't be able to relate to this part of the story. Sorry.

So today it got dark here at around 6:40 officially. That means that next week it will be getting dark around 5:30. In some parts of the country it will getting dark by 5:00.

What if we went into double daylight savings time and instead of dropping back an hour jumped ahead an hour for the winter? So we'd have to drive in the dark in the morning. We're half asleep anyway. Wouldn't we rather have it light until 6:00 or later all winter? Then next spring we can go back to regular daylight savings time.

At any rate I took full advantage of this last official day of extended daylight and after church this morning made a few inside repairs then went outside to trim trees, haul mulch, plant shrubs, pull weeds, and cut the grass.

I got my money's worth this last Sunday of daylight savings time.

I'll close with a couple of fall foliage scenes (not taken in Florida), thankful that at least I don't have to rake those leaves.
