This is it - sudden death

Well. here we are. It's been a long season of Presidential politics. We've had the regular season and the playoffs to get to the final two major candidates. Then we've officially had a 60 day championship. One team is up a little, then a lot. The other team surges ahead, then falls back. Today is the decisiove game.

The series is all tied - depending on who you listen to. Of course there is no real way to know because no votes have been counted.

It may very well been within the statistical margin of error.

It's like extra innings in baseball, or sudden death in the NFL, or a soccer shootout. Only one team candidate will be awarded the trophy after tonight - or maybe it'll be sometime tomorrow.

At any rate, the series is about to conclude, and we can move on to other seasons and pastimes.

Super Tuesday II

Ever have one of those days when you were excited for it to finally get here, apprehensive about how it might turn out, hopeful that things would go your way, and scared silly that it might be a total bust? Probably we all have. I think of the candidates running for President.

Today is Super Tuesday II, as they're calling it. Depending on who you listen to this can can be a defining day or one that casts more doubt on the eventual outcome of the nominations process.

However you choose to look at it, residents of Texas, Ohio, Vermont, and Rhode Island (and more particulalry the voters there), this is your day - a chance to be in the spotlight. By the end of the day some candidates and their organizations will be celebrating and some are going to be looking for the aspirin. It definitely is a day that will challenge the emotions of candidates and their supporters.
