Every notice how some people will just do things a certain way - no matter what? They might go to the same checkout lane in a particular store regardless of the number of people in the line. They may drive the same route all the time, park in the same spot, watch the same TV shows, or leave the TV on the same channel even when nothing is worth watching.
In sales some people will look for exactly what they have now in a new home. Some people will expect prices, interest rates and other aspects of the sales process to be the same as they were the last time they bought a home.
Some salespeople will conduct every presentation exactly the same - regardless of the needs, interests, or amount of time their customers have.
Go to a seminar and people will sit in the same seats after breaks and lunch - even for more than one day.
I was reminded of this phenomenon tonight when I was getting gas at Walmart - which BTW was at $2.23. Finally some serious relief from where we have been - but still a long way to go to get under $2.00 like so many of the rest of you.
Anyway, I am facing east at the pump as I am getting gas. No one is at the 3 other pumps (which can be accessed from either the west or the east) between me and the building. Then on the other side of the building 2 pumps were open.
So what happens? A guy pulls in right behind me and stays there while I fill my tank. Any of the other lines would have worked.
You really wonder sometimes why people just keep doing the same things when there are better or more effective ways to do them.
Routine is the enemy of enthusiasm.
Make a difference. Break out of the same old, same old.
