I use the word content as a state of being or mindset - not as things as in the contents of a box.
Still, there are two important distinctions between content and content - each involving a state of mind.
If we are at peace with ourselves, we can be content. That means that we are relatively happy with our abilities, our belief system, and how we approach life. That is a great type of contentment even though we can still grow.
Then, there is the contentment of being comfortable. This is where I think we need to be challenged to forge on. If we are content with where we are from a business perspective, we won't be for the long-term because we actually will be loosing ground. There are competitors that would like to catch and overtake us. There is new technology that would to blindside us. There are new opportunities to investigate and potential customers to meet.
It's great to be content as far as feeling great about who and what we are, but I don't think we can remain in our comfort zones and survive as a business. We have to keep growing and moving.
