Many of us support term limits for Congress - whether its just one or two or a little bit longer. Congress will never pass such a measure so it would be up to the state legislatures to propose such a Constitutional amendment.
Not being a fan of amendments - thinking they have been used way too often - it might be possible to achieve term limits with just a simple executive decree.
Since the Founding Fathers never envisioned anyone making a career out of serving in Congress - and certainly not doing it for the money - we should abolish the pensions and many of the perks for all Members of Congress.
This would positively impact the national budget and get people who are serving for financial reasons to step down.
Of course, Members of Congress could help us out and voluntarily decline their Congressional pensions - especially since they are entitled to other pension plans.
