The Anthony Weiner saga calls to mind a little used clause in the Constitution - expulsion.
A member of Congress cannot be impeached per the Constitution. It's own rules may provide for that, but the Constitution does not. Since a Congressional term is just two years, the fact finding and trial would take most of the term anyway.
In the Senate, had the 17th Amendment not been passed, State legislatures could recall Senators for misbehavior. You know that I am an advocate for repeal of the 17th Amendment.
Anyway, Article I, Section 5 (paragraph 2) says that "Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and with the Concurrence of two-thirds, expel a Member."
So, if he won't do the honorable thing and resign, do it for him.
