Help Wanted - People To Serve In Congress Beginning In 12 Months

We the people of the United States are advertising for talented men and women of at least 25 years of age (yes, this is a bona fide requirement) who love this country so much that they are willing to serve to protect it and keep it strong. Successful candidates must swear an oath of office to protect the United States from all enemies - foreign and domestic. You also must swear the same for upholding the Constitution. If you cannot do this unequivocally, please do not apply.

You must believe that this country is the greatest in the world and that a well trained military, capitalism, and free enterprise are the ways to maintain its strength.

Must have intimate knowledge of the US Constitution (including all 27 Amendments) and the Declaration of Independence. A casual reading or scanning of the documents is unacceptable.

There are very few responsibilities except for enacting responsible legislation, holding the line on spending, and working within the 17 enumerated powers in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution; however, your minimum skills are vital. Must be willing to listen to your selectors. Must be a good reader with excellent comprehension skills. Must be an independent thinker able to form opinions based on the facts, what you have read, and what your selectors have told you and not on what colleagues have told you or pressured you to do.

There are several perks as well, but please do not seek the position solely because of this. This may be cause for dismissal if it is found to be the case.

Must be well-off financially or not impressed by money. There will be many attempts to influence your judgment and vote by gifts or promises of favors if you are selected. Previous holders of these positions have used it for personal aggrandizement.

Previous experience is not desired. In fact, it may count against you.

Several interviews are being scheduled between now and November 1, 2010. Decision to hire will be made on Tuesday, November 2, 2010.

There are 435 openings, but only one per district. Apply in person with the requisite paperwork at your local elections office to get your name on the ballot for consideration. Some districts may hold a screening earlier in the year to pare down the number of candidates.

All successful candidates will serve a two-year probationary term.
