That's why they call it a comfort zone

Change can be painful. Anything that causes us to stretch can be uncomfortable. Growing is sometimes scary. Expanding our horizons can be unnerving.

Anytime we expand our opportunities or branch out in new directions, we are taking a calculated risk. We want it to work. We hope it will work. We are trusting it to work. We are scared that it might not work.

That's why they call it a comfort zone. It's our reality. It's what we know. It's what we can deal with. It the way we relate to the world and those around us.

Don't ask us to stretch too much. Give us time. Let us grow into it. Some of us really don't adapt well to the idea of changing like this. Others of us thrive on it.

Still, it's called a comfort zone for a reason - but that doesn't mean we can't expand or grow into a new one.
