We all knew that NBC, ABC, and CBS - for years the only place to get TV news and information - were losing viewers and advertisers to cable - CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox, and others.
Now, a new development.
The Justice Department and the FCC have given their blessing for Comcast (the cable company) to buy and takeover NBC TV (currentlu owned by GE).
So is this the end of network programming? Probably not at first, but it signals an interesting turn. There are requirements attached to the sale about making programming available to numerous online channels and outlets.
Imagine, a major network - and the first to broadcast in color - has now gone cable, so to speak.
Wonder if ABC and CBS are shopping for buyers.
