We Don't Have To Agree To This

The government is spending money they don't have like there is a deadline for going into maximum debt - like there is a contest for whichever Senator or Congressperson can spend the most. The President has spent over $3 trillion dollars in the past year. I have no idea how much a trilion is - and neither do most people. I don't know that I've ever consciously seen or held a million of anything at one time. Forget all about a million times a million (one trillion).

It occurred to me that we don't have to accept this. We don't have to consent. We don't have to go along.

I refuse to give my consent to one dollar being spent for anything that does not provide for national security or the infrastructure for commerce. This is essentially all Congress is empowered to do anyway - look it up in Article I, Section 8.

No more. We all need to be screaming and dragging our feet. Of course Congress and the President are covering their ears and singing lalalalalaalalala to pretend that they are not hearing us. Barney Frank would prefer talking to a dining room table.

November 2nd is coming - just 259 more days after today.

This is our country and we won't stand idly by and watch it being spent into oblivion. For now we will scream and shout. In Novmber our ballots will be heard.
