What were you doing a little over a hundred years ago?
Well if you had been alive in the City of Chicago in 1906, you could have watched both of your teams, the Chicago Cubs of the National League and the Chicago White Sox of the American League, in the postseason that year. It's the most recent time it has happened.
We all know how persistence and perseverance can pay big dividends in sales. What about in sports?
Just think of all the generations of ballplayers and fans that have come and gone in the past century. And the amount of hotdogs and peanuts and beer that have been consumed.
The lessons and parallels can be drawn between baseball (or any sport) and sales. Persistence and patience are well illustrated here.
With apologies to all the other teams in the postseason - and their fans, wouldn't it be something if the World Series was played in Chicago - and only in Chicago?
This will be a season to remember with New York saying goodbye to both of it ballparks - Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium - and just maybe the World Series (all or in part) played in Chicago.
