Today, it my pleasure to teach the "Basics of Building" course from the NAHB University of Housing. This course is offered infrequently nationwide so it was great to present it today. It's an introduction to the building business for anyone associated with new construction (other than builders themselves) who wants to learn more about it. This includes lenders, Realtors, architects, inspectors, and others.
We cover the land development process, sales and marketing, market research, determining which products to build, the construction process, customer service, and so much more.
If you think you might like to attend a future class, let me know. I'm planning another for the fall in West Palm Beach - the weather will be great then. Haven't picked a date yet but likely October or November.
This can be used for the Certified Graduate Associate designation for NAHB members or just to gain a greater understanding of the building process.
