Anyone For Football?

No, I'm not talking about the NFL who seems hopelessly misdirected right now. I'm talking about the AFL - the Arena Football League. You'll see just as good of play with some high scoring and occasional razzle-dazzle.

The league is built around the fans, unlike the NFL. The rules have been created with the fans in mind.

The AFL begins its 2011 season tonight with 3 games. Three more tomorrow night, and a game each on Sunday and Monday.

We can still get our football fix as we learn to forget about the overpaid NFL - "No Football Likely."

Why Didn't Somebody Tell Me?

I just found out tonight that Arena Football is back. I was going through the channels and came to an Arena Football game on the NFL Network. At first I though it was a rerun - the AFL folded 2 years ago.

Much to my surprise, and approval, the AFL is back. We used to have a team, and I went to some games. Would be nice to get a team again, but I don't see that happening.

It's great entertainment, and it fills in until the NFL preseason starts. It's also a great proving ground for future NFL standouts.

You make your opportunities where they are, and some players really do this well.
