Words of a true hero

Did you happen to watch the remarks of Captain Phillips at the Burlington, Vermont yesterday after his triumphant return from the ugly Somali pirate ordeal?

He was very brief, but what a great message. In his few words, but he exalted his crew for the work they had done and heaped praises on the Navy Seals and the others in the United States Armed Forces.

If we didn't know any better, we'd almost think he was just a casual observer to the entire event. Clearly, he was not.

This is the stuff modern heroes are made of. Rising to the challenge when it is presented. Putting all else above self.

It's this kind of selfless devotion to duty, country, and the lives of those under his command that make him a true American hero.

So humble, yet such a hero.
