We talk about being addicted to Active Rain, and that's probably true. It's just that addiction is such a strong word. Let's just say we can't live without it, or can't wait to see what new comments we received, or can't stand the unresponsiveness of the network when it is experiencing technical difficulties, or really, really like to communicate and share ideas on the network and can't wait to sit down at the keyboard. But addicted? Such a strong word.
Oh well, if the shoe fits.
What really gets me - and probably points out my affinity for the network and dependency on it - is when we get the "proxy," "bad gateway," "500," or "501" errors. Or when the system goes done for a few hours or even a day or more and we don't know if it's just us or if others are experiencing the same thing. We are powerless to do anything. We want to post, We want to comment. We want to connect. We suffer from frustration.
Then when the system is half asleep and it takes a looooong time for the comment to post - or it times out - we get irritated. We fight back by posting the same comment three or four times - never really sure that it has posted at all until we see the same comment showing up multiple times. We would delete the extra ones, but we know others understand what has happened because they likely have experienced it, too.
AR is great, and I really like using it. Call be a dedicated blogger if you have to use labels.
