Reblogging Is Back

The reblogging feature - "temporarily disabled" for an extended period - is back. There was some question and speculation as to whether the popular reblogging feature would ever return. May it was gfone for good. But alas, it is back and raring to go. So go ahead, reblog.

Bring Back Re-Blogging

Bring back re-blogging. It is one of the features of Active Rain that distinguishes it from other platforms and networks. No permission to get, no copyrights to worry about. Just click the re-blog button and any post for which the author allows re-blogging is automatically, and legally, reproduced on your blog.

It's a great way to share content that you enjoy, a point of view that elaborates on a position you have, a new way of doing something, a recipe or idea, new technology, or many other possibilities. It's a way to honor a member with a good post by sharing it with your readership. It's a way of "seconding" what was written by reposting it.

Of all the features that Active Rain has created in the past couple of years, this is one of the best. Disable other features, but bring back re-bloggging. Tonight. Activate all of the features, but bring back re-blogging. Tonight.

Relax the 25-words. That is arbitrary and not in the true spirit of re-blogging. Add a comment, but so what if it's only 23 words? Or 15 words, or 8 words? I know, some people will just have a career re-blogging and never write anything original. Won't that be to their detriment anyway?

I rely on re-blogging to republish the ideas of others I respect or find interesting. I appreciate seeing content that I might not see if it were not for reblogging. The 25 points don't hurt, but re-blogging or reblogging - I write it both ways and haven't determined which I prefer - probably without the hyphen - has become part of our blogging strategy.
