Looking Back

I was amazed to find out that I wrote my first Active Rain post 3 years ago today. I knew I started in January 2008 but had forgotten the exact day.

That was a couple thousand posts ago and more comments and points that I could ever imagine logging.

I don't remember how many members there were at the time, but 100,000 members seemed like a long way off - forget about 200,000.

If you're just getting started, stay with it. If you've been here staying with it, continue to lead the way. There's always someone else coming along who needs our help.

Celebrating #2000

This is my 2,000th post on Active Rain. Many people have posted more - that's not the point. It's just a nice milestone that wasn't even on the horizon when I published my first post.

If you're just getting started on your Active Rain journey, don't worry about the number of points or posts you have. Just commit to staying involved and connect with people from around the network. You will meet some really great friends here on Active Rain - even if you never actually see or speak to each other except virtually.

As for my journey, I have been quite priveleged to have a great group of fsubscribers, followers, and supporters who consistently read and comment on my posts. Thank you. It is energizing and inspiring. It keeps me working harder to come up with fresh material.

To my knowledgfe, I have not posted the same exact content more than once, and I have never posted a listing or market report in my 2,000 posts. Nothing wrong with that, it's just not been my direction so far. You know that I like to publish topical articles so many of posts aren't conceived until the moment I sit down to type them.

Also, I am thrilled with the acceptance of my photo posts. They have become a mainstay of my blog, and I am grateful to the many great comments I receive about them.

Thanks for helping me get this far. Now, I'll start planning the next post.

The Daily Double - Two Active Rain Milestones

Only because they both happened together, I wanted to report that as of today, I posted over 1,000 blogs on Active Rain and surpassed the 500,000 point mark. Others have done this, and others will do this, but I'm enjoying it just the same.
