Congratulations, Marco Rubio

Marco Rubio has won the Senate seat in Florida, and his acceptance speech was noteworthy. Very classy. Quite eloquent. No teleprompters. No prepared remarks. Bold, honest, and from the heart.

What a story he tells. What a champion of free enterprise he is.

For those of you who didn't see his speech (about 15 minutes) or if you'd like to see it again, here it is. If you watch a little of it, you'll still get the flavor of his message and style.

Rick Scott Wins Florida Primary

Rick Scott, the new guy on the block and the new face on the political scene, offered Florida Republican voters what they were looking for in terms of a fresh start and voted him the Republican nominee for Governor in Florida over 26-year political veteran and former Congressman, Attorney General Bill McCollum.

Scott bested McCollum 46% to 43%. It was a close contest, but in the next 68 days, Florida gets to see what a politcal outsider and prominent businessman's vision is for Florida and how he intends to bring it about.

His opponent is Alex Sink, current State CFO. She had only token primary opposition.

Interestingly, 2 TV ads for the general election ran last night before all of the votes were counted. Ron Klein ran his ad against Alan West, who easily won his primary, and Bill McCollum ran a premature ad. Incumbent Klein is a staunch Obama supporter who voted for health care, card check, cap and trade, and everything else Pelosi put in front of him.

Let's Deem A New Congress

Let's deem elect a totally new Congress.

Now, we are now at 16 weeks to go until November 2nd. More primaries and runoffs are being held each week, with Alabama holding their runoff today.

Spending is so out of control - to the point that the House just has to deem the new budget as being passed to allow them to continue spending. They are too lazy - or cowardly - to even vote on it anymore.

Then, they are too meek to insist that their immigration law be enforced.

And they are so aloof that you can only get as close to them as a self-important staffer.

There will be some new faces in Congress. We know that. The question is how many can we replace?

They may think it's their duty to spend money. It's ours to oust them and get our country back.

Let's keep that tea kettle on the burner.
