Monday holidays are great - while they're happening. We get a long or longer weekend. Maybe sleep in, do some yardwork, play with the kids, and just have some time for ourselves. Many times, the public doesn;t expect us to be working - since they're not - and we escape with few or no phone calls.
The real trouble with Monday holidays is Tuesday - today.
For one, we think it is Monday, the first day of the week rather than the second.
For another, we realize that we only have 4 days to get everything done this week before the weekend.
For still another, we keep telling ourselves and others - and acting like - this is really Monday.
We do have quite a nice stretch until this happens again. Labor Day is not for 14 weeks. After this week, the rest have real Mondays.
