Photo Contest Entry #3

I have entered 5 photos (maximum allowed) in the Annual Palm Beach Post (local newspaper) "Focus On Nature" Photo Contest. There are some really good entries among the 1,446 photos. Voting is now open, and I would appreciate as many votes as I can get. Voting is open through May 16th, and you can vote for each entry once.

Some of these photos may have been shared with you previously - not sure. Anyway, I could only pick 5 and this is the first one.

Thank you.

This is entry #1188.

"Radiant Yellow"

The petals radiate from the center and curl into points - like a pinwheel. This design is a happy yellow color for summer (or any other time of year) with additional bold colors tossed in. more

Bees have so much work to do, and fortunately, there is never any shortage of blossoms for them to visit. more
"Getting Closer"

This pineapple has a way to go before it comes to the table, but it's getting much closer. Something so satisfying about producing this in the backyard instead of getting it at the market. more
"Plentiful Plumeria"

These flowers are fantastic. Tulips, daffodils, pansies - all great in their one way - but these are truly special and quite fragrant! more
"First Magnolias Of The Season"

This magnificent flower is synonymous with the south and late spring. It typically blooms about time for the Kentucky Derby and is such a fresh addition to spring. Its velvety soft, creamy petals bruise quite easily, and the honey bees love them… more
"Bottlebrush Tree"

It's no mystery how this bottlebrush tree got its name - this unusually shaped flower looks just like a bottlebrush although the real ones typically aren't red. This great red color stands out against the beautifully clear blue sky. more
"An Orange Explosion"

Keeping with a theme of orange for spring, here is another great looking (and somewhat unusual) plant that literally explodes with color. Interestingly, it's called the firecracker plant. more
